Microsoft
Office Specialist
The MTLC’s Office Specialist Program is designed to prepare
individuals to become office managers and
administrative assistants that exhibit notable
leadership skills in addition to the ability to
perform daily responsibilities using MS Office
products. Students
receive training in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS
Excel and MS Access.
In order to boost their management
capabilities, they also learn skills including
problem solving, decision making and planning,
meeting management, delegating work, communication
and time management.
This program consists of 3 10-week courses, PowerPoint & Word,
Excel & Word and Access Database.
PowerPoint & Word
Curriculum
The curriculum includes classroom studies and lab and is composed
of 10 weeks of study in:
· PowerPoint
presentations.
· Integrating
graphics and animation.
· Using the
correct amount of information.
.
Business plan.
· Business
letters.
· Fax cover
sheets.
· Business
envelopes.
· Meeting
management.
· Communication.
Prerequisites
Computer
Fundamentals and Internet Communication - unless
exemplary skills in these areas can be
demonstrated before the instructor on duty.

Curriculum
The curriculum includes classroom studies and lab and is composed
of 10 weeks of study in:
· Formulas and
formatting cells.
· Managing
spreadsheets and books.
· Tracking
inventory and complete payroll.
· Creating
Invoices and expense reports.
· Mailing labels.
· Resumes.
· Problem solving.
· Decision making
and planning.
Prerequisites
Computer
Fundamentals and Internet Communication - unless
exemplary skills in these areas can be
demonstrated before the instructor on duty.

queries.
· Collecting data
using forms.
· Tracking and
running reports.
· Eliminating
duplicates.
· Mass mailing
preparation.

· Decision making
& planning.
· Communication.

Students
