Curriculum
The
curriculum includes classroom studies, lab and
workbench practical skills. This program is
composed of 15 weeks of study in:

Basic electronics.
·
Computer hardware.
·
Operating systems and application software.
·
Computer architecture.
·
Troubleshooting methodology and techniques.
·
Fundamentals of network design and
implementation.
·
Local and wide area networks.
·
Wired and wireless networks.
·
Customer service.
Team Building and Leadership
Technical Writing
In
addition, throughout
the 15-week program the students are required to
spend 120 hours working as an apprentice under the supervision of a
certified technician in a real world work
environment to learn necessary practical skills.
Upon
successful completion of this program students are
expected to have the necessary preparation for A+
and Network+ certification.
Prerequisites
There
are no prerequisites for this class.
Receiving a
Diploma
Students who
successfully complete the 15-week program and
complete their practical skills hours will be
awarded a diploma from Mattapan Technology
Learning Center.
